Teleconferencing Solution

What is teleconferencing?

Teleconferencing (also called audio-conferencing) is a service of the telephone company, which allows several (more than two) people to have a conversation together, like when they sit down together in a conference room. A simple example is a service provided by several local phone companies in the USA, called "three-way calling", which allows a person to call two people, one after the other, and "conference" them together. Or, if your company has a PBX with the phones equipped with "Conference" button, you can conference together three or more people, so that you can all talk together.

A significant drawback of the above methods is that the people on the "far ends" of the conference experience difficulties hearing each other – and this gets worse when more people join the conference. That’s why a technology was invented to allow teleconferencing for many participants, that does not lead to sound deterioration, and it also allows customers that do not have a PBX or a special service from the local phone company to participate in "virtual" meetings. The importance for a business to have a capability to set-up such virtual meetings can not be overestimated. Especially, when your business has several locations or you have some of your key employees traveling far from the main office.

The way that this teleconferencing technology works is like this: all participants of the conference obtain a PIN (Personal Identification Number) and the access phone number(s) from the service bureau that organizes the conference. Then, they all call the access number(s), more or less at the same time. They get prompted to enter their PINs, which they do by using the keypads on their regular touch-tone phones. Usually, they then get admitted to the conference, and the participants that were already there (in the "conference room") are notified about that by an audio signal (a short beep). Then, they can all talk together, like they would in a regular conference room.

Telenet’s Advantage.

MKTC Telenet USA,Inc and its Moscow partners, MKTC group of companies, have created the teleconferencing service in their network, which spans Russia and the United States. We provide local access to our virtual "conference room" from both USA and Russia, so that companies and individuals can set up virtual meetings for participants located either in the USA, or Russia, or both! And the use of our "conference room" comes at an amazingly low price of 25 cents per minute for a participant from the United States, and 50 cents per minute for a participant from Russia!

If you would like to take advantage of this service, which - until recently - was available only to large corporate customers, please call our service bureau to obtain your PINs and access numbers. To set up a conference in the USA (or among US and Russian-based participants), call (718)552-3462. To set up a conference in Moscow (or between Russian and US-based participants), please call the Moscow office of MKTC at +7-095-788-0010.
